About RTK

What's the story behind the name "Rainbow Trout Kitchen"?
Only a kid would be so creative and bold to come up with such a quirky name! To find out the whole story, click the Our Story page on our website to read about Peter who started Rainbow Trout Kitchen granola at the ripe old age of eight.
What makes Rainbow Trout Kitchen granola different from store-bought granola?
Our granola is handmade in small batches using wholesome, all-natural, whole grain ingredients. We use real Madagascar vanilla extract and clover honey, and our recipe has been perfected over more than a decade. It's low in sodium, a good source of fiber, and made with love-- not mass-produced.
I have adventure pics for your Adventure Reel! How do I send those to you?
As you can see on the Adventure Reel on our website, we love customer photos! With or without a RTK granola bag, we love to show our RTK fans how customers Nourish Life’s Adventures. You can message pics to us on Instagram or email pictures to info@rainbowtroutkitchen.com

What does it cost to ship?
There is a flat $8 shipping fee for any order under $50. Shipping is free on orders over $50.
Where do you ship RTK granola?
Anywhere in the U.S.
I’m in Richmond, VA. I see online that I can order granola, then pick up from your kitchen. How do I schedule a pickup?
Rainbow Trout Kitchen world headquarters is located at 9109 Quioccasin Road in Richmond. If you would like to order granola for pickup, choose that option at checkout. We are not open for regular hours. To schedule a pickup, email us at info@rainbowtroutkitchen.com.
Do you sell bulk granola to markets, restaurants or hotels?
Oh yes! We do sell delicious RTK granola in bulk. Some of our bulk customers include The Georges Inn in Lexington,Virginia and Stella’s Grocery and Westhampton Pharmacy in Richmond VA. To talk bulk, please contact us at info@rainbowtroutkitchen.com.
I have a business that sends gifts to clients. How do I reach you to discuss Corporate Gifting?
For holiday or any time of year, we offer two custom wrapping papers. Both gift wraps are sealed with a 3” sticker that can be designed with your logo and gift message. To find out more and see the gift wrap options, click here.

Ingredients & Products

Is your granola dairy-free?
Yes. All RTK granola flavors are dairy free.
Are either flavor nut-free?
The only nut in Triple Seed Berry is coconut. Since the FDA qualifies coconut as a nut, we cannot say that Triple Seed Berry is nut-free. While we do make Triple Seed Berry in the same facility as Classic Almond, we do follow a careful protocol and cleaning process to avoid cross contamination between products. Classic Almond is not nut-free, as it contains almonds.
Is RTK Granola gluten-free?
Triple Seed Berry flavor is gluten free. Classic Almond is not, as it contains wheat germ and bran. When we bake Triple Seed Berry, we use certified gluten free oats and gluten free ingredients. Triple Seed Berry is made in the same facility as Classic Almond. We follow an allergen control plan - a careful protocol and cleaning process when we change flavors to avoid any cross contamination.
How long will RTK Granola last?
Your bag has a "Sell By" date on the back. That date is not a date that the granola will expire. Your granola should taste delicious a few months past that date, even without added preservatives. It is best kept in a cool, dark place with the zipper closed. If you want to extend the freshness life even longer, you can freeze your RTK granola for several more months.

Can I order a sample before committing to a large order?
Of course! We offer sample packs so you can taste and decide before placing your full order.
